SCHSRA 2007 Queen: Nicole Ross

Hey everyone! My name is Nicole Ross and I am honored to represent South Carolina as the 2007-2008 High School Rodeo Queen. I am a senior at Hunter Huss High School in Gastonia, North Carolina where I am a member of the National Honor Society, journalism staff, and yearbook staff as well as in the top two percent of my class.

This is my fourth year as a member of the National High School Rodeo Association and my second year on the Wrangler All Star Team. My rodeo events include barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, and breakaway roping. When I am not rodeoing, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, roping, trail riding, playing volleyball, and shopping! After high school I plan on attending college to become a Veterinary Physical Therapist while continuing to rodeo.

I recently had the opportunity to compete in the queen competition at the National High School Finals in Springfield, Ill. I placed in the top ten in the categories of modeling, personality, written test, appearance, two minute speech, and impromptu speech. At the end of the week I was awarded 7th place overall. I would like to say thank you to everyone who was so supportive and for my awesome cheering section!

This association provides so many opportunities for young cowboys and cowgirls and I couldn't be more proud to represent our wonderful state of South Carolina. Rodeo Hard and God Bless!

Always, Nicole Ross
