  • Ad Sales: Since fuel prices are so high and Nationals is farther away this year, selling ads is a great way to make fuel money. If you can gather some pictures of yourself doing rodeo events like in a scrap book or just pictures to show prospective people, that helps alot. Another thing, if there was a rodeo near you and you have the program from the rodeo (even if it was a pro rodeo), go to those people in the program, they are used to advertising in rodeo programs. The program from last year's state finals is online and you might look for businesses in there that are near you. One contestant used this strategy last year and made over a $1000. Here is the link to last year's program. Ad sales due May 6.

  • Point Sheets: If you like keeping up with points during the rodeo, you can buy a blank points sheet to fill in at the sign-in table for $1.00 before the rodeo.
  • Call-In: Click here to review call-in procedures. (PDF Format)
  • School Forms: You need a signed school forms for every rodeo. If you need a copy of the school form, click here.
  • Contestant Meetings: Contestant meetings are held 30 minutes prior to show performance and slack performance. Attendance is required. Particular info on that rodeo will be given.
  • Back Numbers: Don't forget that you need to put on your back number as soon as you arrive at a rodeo. It needs to be on your back... not side, knee, etc. You don't need to be in rodeo attire until an hour before rodeo but your back number should always be visible.
  • Look Professional: Contestants are asked to please make extra efforts to keep their hats on during rodeo events. A stampede string is a small investment to make the rodeo appear much more professional. It also saves the time and effort of arena personnel from having to go pick up your hat.
  • Cowboys for Christ: Cowboys for Christ will start having short meetings one hour prior to the rodeos. Cowboy Church will still be held during intermission behind the bucking chutes.
  • Contestant Birthdays: I'm trying to add contestant birthdays to the calendar. If you want to share yours, email me.
  • Required Western Attire: All contestants must be in complete western attire one hour prior to the rodeo. Complete Western attire consists of cowboy hat, shirt (tucked in), jeans, belt, and western boots. No tennis shoe boots ... only western boots. No exceptions. No shirts advertising alcohol or tobacco products are allowed. If you are attending slack or you are near the arena, you need to be in Western attire. All contestants are also expected to conduct themselves as ladies and gentlemen at all times which, of course, includes no profanity at any time. Failure to follow proper behavior and dress could result in disqualification. We want to always project the best image to spectators at the rodeos.
